  ParkwayHealth's medical staff is supplemented by experienced international specialists. We facilitate a close cooperation and collaboration among our primary and specialty physicians to ensure that the right decisions are made for each individual patient. The panel of specialists is constantly being expanded and includes:
   
  Anesthesia
A team of certified anesthesiologists assist our surgeons and OB Gyn providers with general, regional, epidural, and local anesthesia. Post-operative pain control includes computerized Patient-Controlled-Anesthesia devices or PCA. For deliveries, epidural service is available.

Cardiology
The diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the heart and circulatory system.

Dermatology
Includes the treatment and diagnosis of skin diseases and disorders. Common conditions treated include acne, warts, moles, rashes, and removal of suspicious skin lesions.

Diagnostic imaging
Through special arrangements with our host medical facilities, Luwan and RuiJin Hospitals, we offer CT scans, MRI, and other special x-ray services. Each of our facilities has ultrasound and x-ray capabilities, staffed by certified x-ray physicians. In addition the Tomorrow Square ParkwayHealth International Medical and Surgical Center center offers digital mammography.

Endocrinology
Deals with the treatment and diagnosis of glandular diseases, including thyrold disorders, diabetes, and other hormonal disorders. Specific services are now available for both adults and children.

ENT or Otolaryngology
Covers diseases affecting the ears, nose, and throat, including the sinuses. Common conditions include hearing disorders, snoring and related problems, complex sinus infections, ear infections, and tonsillitis. 

Gastroenterology
Deals with the digestive system, including the liver, pancreas, and intestines. Common conditions include chronic abdominal discomfort, reflux esophagitis or GERD, ulcers, abnormal bowel habits, hepatitis, pancreatitis, and intestinal bleeding, as well as cancer of abdominal organs. Our ParkwayHealth gastroenterologist performs colonoscopy and gastroscopy studies using the latest equipment with appropriate protocols  and anesthesia.

General Surgery
Includes a variety of problems that may or may not need direct surgical intervention. This includes appendicitis, gall bladder disease, bowel obstructions, and biopsies. Occasionally exploratory surgery is needed for more exact diagnosis. The surgical team is headed by a very experienced senior surgeon and functions in a strong collaborative format with our in-patient providers. Both open and laparoscopic approaches are available depending on individual needs.

Hematology
The Diagnosis and treatment of diseases and disorders of the blood.

Infectious Diseases
The Diagnosis and treatment of communicable diseases.

Internal Medicine
Encompasses the diagnosis and treatment of both everyday and complex illnesses of adults from their teenage years through to old age.

Neonatology
The advanced care of newborns.

Neurology
Includes the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and disorders of the nervous system. Common ailments include headaches, migraine, dizziness, seizure disorders, strokes, carpal tunnel syndrome, neuritis, and chronic pain.

OB-Gyn and Birthing Services
Comprehensive women's healthcare services provide care not only during pregnancy, but also dealing with the general health of women, particularly the female reproductive system, breasts, hormones, and sexual health. For Pap testing, the latest technology is used; this includes 'thin-prep' tests and HPV tests for cervical cancer prevention. Colonoscopy, out-patient gynecological hysteroscopy, and other special procedures are available. 

Onsite Diagnostic Services
An expanding range of services now include:

  • Digital Radiology services which are integrated
    with teleradiology capabilities. 
  • Digital Ultrasound services for obstetric monitoring, as well as for 
    evaluations of the liver, gall bladder, pancreas, kidney,
    breast, and thyroid.
  • Echocardiography for imaging of the heart valves and
    measures of cardiac function.
  • Digital Bone Densitometry to diagnose osteoporosis
  • Breath testing for Helicobacteria Pyloris, a bacteria causing
    gastric disorders
  • Laboratory services that include hematology, chemistry, 
    immunology, urine, bacteriology, parasitology, and special studies. 
  • Electrocardiograms (EKG) with interpretation, including stress 
    (treadmill) testing. Stress Echocardiograms and other special 
    cardiac testing, including catheterization studies, are
    scheduled with a local sub specialist member of our
    preferred provider panel.  
  • Measurements of pulmonary (breathing) function including 
    Spirometry and Pulse Oximetry
  • Audiometry to measure hearing

Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine
Uses exercise, manual therapy, and special modalities to help relieve and prevent pain, recover from injury, and lessen the effects of ailments such as arthritis and spinal problems. The Sports Medicine program focuses on fitness evaluation and fitness training as a basis for good health and for prevention of physical and stress related problems.

Psychology Services and Counseling
Provides counseling for stress management and specific psychological problems to help improve clients mental health, including personal counseling for individuals, couples, children, and adolescents. A special emphasis is placed on practical approaches that include cognitive and behavioral strategies including the 'mind-body' concepts. 

Psychiatry
The study, treatment and prevention of mental disorders, including the prescription of drugs, by a medical doctor who specializes in human behavior.

Pulmonary Medicine
A branch of medicine concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and defects of the lungs and respiratory system. These include asthma, emphysema, chronic obstructive lung disease, and related disorders.

Radiology
The area of medicine that uses images to make patient diagnosis.  Radiological services now include:
  • Computer Radiography
  • Gastrointestinal Radiology
  • Intravenous Urography (IVU)
  • Digital Mammography
  • Computer Tomography (CT scan)
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
  • DEXA
  • Nuclear Radiology (Isotope Bone Scanning)
  • 3D Ultrasound imaging for OBGYN
  • 3D Ultrasound imaging for Abdominal and Breast Imaging
  • Digital X-Ray

Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture

Are natural therapeutic and healthcare sciences in China. Traditional Chinese medicine can help in the healing process by restoring the dynamic balance between the organs and tissues and the human body and the natural world. Acupuncture Therapy is used in the treatment of sports injuries, muscular and neurological disorders and various illnesses, including tennis elbow, arthritis and apoplexy.

Urology
The diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the urinary tract and urogenital system

Vascular Surgery
